ifilm weekend flick ‘Mahoora’ is themed on a grabbing wartime romance with a different twist for a love story.
‘Mahoura’ depicts the story of an Iranian village near the Iran-Iraq border where people have a peculiar local custom.
The flick narrates an untold story set in the 1980s Iraq-Iran war, focusing on an Arab ethnicity living in southern Iran.
The story of the film begins with a killing and a depressed lover that most of the members of the tribe consider a cursed one who fell in love with a woman from the enemy tribe. They believe that God has taken this woman from him.
He, however, holds the view that God belongs to all nations and strongly opposes this.
The twist in the love story can be quite intriguing for the viewer, as the lover cannot see his beloved anymore.
One of the positive points of this flick is the depiction of an Arab ethnicity in Iran, highlighting the ethnic diversity in the country.
